As we begin this journey, your participation is essential. We ask that you provide us with photos, writtings, sentimental items and anything else of meaning that can be collected from your own personal inventory. Content is chosen based on significance as well as artistic importance, allowing us to visualize who you are and the story you want your piece to tell.
To further understand your vision behind the materials submitted for the artwork, we would like to schedule a consultation prior to moving forward. It is both our opportunity to learn more about you and your opportunity to express your preference for a foundation image, color palette and technique. You also select a canvas size.
There is a sequence to life’s chapters, a series of meaningful moments that create who we are. You have told us your story and we have collected your material. Together we choose an image that has meaning and strong composition, serving as the foundation for the canvas. We begin the process of piecing together the individual imagery and the story emerges.
Once the digital collage has been transferred to the canvas, coats of pigment are applied to the surface of each piece to achieve the rich and luminous composition, which incorporates complex elements of collage and the resulting topography of countless layers of mixed media. Images and colors are applied to the base, covered by additional veils of medium, only to be partially revealed again by the scraping back and removal of the immediate facade. This process is akin to the weaving of fabric, as each deposit of detail and color, whether hidden or apparent, is a significant component of the whole.

SLADE FINE ART IS A COMMISSION-BASED COLLABORATION.
Life consists of a series of events and perceptions each uniquely our own. Fleeting moments captured visually allow us to revisit experiences and re-connect with our emotions. These pieces are created for us to remember and share our past.
Commission the Slade family to share your story.
